Education and the development of personal autonomy

Ger Snik

pp. 211-222

In chapter 14, we analyzed and evaluated some educational applications of genetic structuralist theories (e.g., Kohlberg's "one-stage-above-approach") and some of the educational concepts used (e.g., "content learning" and 'structure learning"). In this chapter we will indicate how a suitably qualified genetic structuralist approach may offer a fruitful perspective on how education contributes to the development of personal autonomy.
